Planning a wedding usually means checking things off a list months in advance, and your skin deserves the same kind of planning. The treatments that give the most natural, camera-ready results take time. Some need weeks to settle, some have downtime, and some just work better when they’re not rushed right before the big day. Here’s what I recommend:
12+ Months Before: Start With Skin Health
If you’re dealing with concerns like acne, uneven texture, or pigmentation, this is the time to start addressing them. These are problems that take time to improve and starting early gives us the flexibility to adjust your treatment.
6 Months Before: First-Time Botox or Fillers
If you’ve never had Botox or dermal fillers before, right before your wedding is not the time to try them. I recommend trying these procedures at least six months ahead. This gives us time to see how you respond, make any adjustments, and ensure you’re happy with the results. If you’re not sure who to trust with your first treatment, choosing the right injector makes a big difference in how natural the results look.
2 to 3 Months Before: Lasers and Peels
Laser treatments and chemical peels can require downtime and sun avoidance. Booking these two to three months before gives your skin time to fully heal and reveal results, without any risk of redness or peeling in the weeks before the wedding.
4 to 6 Weeks Before: Botox Touch-Ups
If you’re already a Botox patient, this is the ideal time for your pre-wedding touch-up. Botox typically takes about two weeks to show its full effect, so scheduling four to six weeks out gives plenty of time to adjust it before the wedding day.
2 Weeks Before: Final Touch-Ups Only
At this point, I recommend having only minor touch-ups, not trying anything new. Two weeks is enough time for small Botox or filler adjustments to settle, but it’s too close to the wedding to introduce a treatment your skin hasn’t had before.
Wedding Week: Nothing New
In the final week, avoid any treatment that carries a risk of bruising, swelling, or redness. This is the time to focus on rest, hydration, and sticking with your established skincare routine, not experimenting. Don’t even consider trying new products as I have seen many allergic reactions.
Start With a Consultation
Every bride’s timeline looks a little different depending on which treatments she’s interested in and how her skin responds. The best way to build a plan that fits your wedding date is to start with a consultation. I can help you decide on a schedule so you’re not rushing anything in the final weeks before your wedding.
